No, the title TMG is not an acronym for “Too Many Goodies”. But perhaps that should be a topic of my next article, when I finish my current series on deep diving longevity and bio hacks, for the greatest health, long life and performance recovery and building our most ultimate physiques.
Hello friends and welcome back to another edition, So if you’ve been with me for sometime now, you’re familiar with my recent articles on “essential supplements” and tapping into simple measures to enhance life and performance through “Longevity Hacks”, producing our best results on and off the stage.
Today I make a case for the powerful benefit of a little known, yet a banger of a supplement “Betaine Anhydrous”. Not to be confused with Betaine HCL, a powerful and helpful digestive aid. Betaine Anhydrous more commonly referred to as TMG. Which is actually the acronym for trimethylglycine. TMG is the amino acid glycine, but the methylated form, down the road will have a good conversation about methylation and it being one of the most important things for bio availability of certain supplements and our huge benefit.
Most principally in this case, bio availability and reducing Homocysteine. What is homocysteine? Well it’s a powerfully inflammatory, oxidative stressor which means free radical producing destructive amino acid. So TMGs added methylation to glycine, allowing homocystine to convert the non-invasive amino acid methionine. By which reducing homocysteine is critical for health. Our body usually clears homocysteine on its own using vitamin B12, B6 and folate. Are you thinking that it might mean that we have a vitamin deficiency if our homocysteine levels are high? Wouldn’t that be rare?
Hold onto your seats for this, correct, about vitamin efficiency, and no, not rare any longer. Also once a genetic predisposition, which is now showing adult onset. Some people have a genetic disorder where they don’t use B12 B6, and folate to convert homocysteine to methionine, and this once was thought to be a genetic born with or passed along heretically, genetic disorder. Is popping up regularly and has become more prevalent in the last decade. Their bodies are just not getting enough or utilizing B6 B12 and folate, utilizing what they get. This has become increasingly more prevalent in the last 10 years.
In the last 3 years people sick with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, blood, clotting disorders, and many downstream comorbidities have been diagnosed with high homocysteine and C–reactive protein levels, very low vitamin B 12, B6 and folate levels.
Here’s the caveat, it is the majority of people studied or diagnosed or both with underlying factors such as a processed food, essential nutrient devoid diet. With insulin resistance, type two diabetes, blood lipid disorders, cancer, heart, disease. Yes, compounded effects of years of low B12, B6, and folate. All caused from poor diet, unregulated irresponsible food product intake, the accumulation of this behavioral pattern and lifestyle choice, for life.
So what about TMG as a longevity performance recovery Supplement? I’ll get there. Just want us all to understand how important this supplement may be just to help protect our bodies and minds.
Friends, our performance, recovery and Physiques are not first and foremost. Without our health; We have none of that.
Homocysteine levels are higher now in more people studied, tested than ever before. Let me be perfectly clear; homocysteine, which is directly linked to a very important marker of health, to c-reactive, protein, and your calcium score. If you recall from my article “the heart of the matter” elevated C-reactive protein, and high calcium score, is very dangerous. Homocysteine levels are directly responsible for increasing c-reactive protein.
High homocysteine levels increase proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, and in turn lead us to be much more prone and sensitive to oxidative stress in the endothelium of our arteries. Putting us massively at risk of stroke, heart attack , heart disease.
Neurological disorders that are also cumulative as we get older like Parkinson’s disease. It’s found in women who suffered the tragedy of miscarriages. People with blood clots, which also has risen dramatically. Blood clots, blood clotting disorders in the last 3 years have skyrocketed. TMG has a positive effect on lowering and regulating chronically high blood pressure as well Friends, TMG is a very powerful protective supplement.
Enhances of TMG
So why should we take TMG? We already get Glycine in our diet if we’re eating protein. Yes It is one of the available amino acids we get when we eat protein, but we don’t get a lot, not the amount that we need to directly and positively impact these biomarkers of everything I wrote above, and why not just take glycine? Remember the methylated form gives us all the benefits and Bioavailability we can utilize, and converts homocysteine to methionine.
PERFORMANCE! recovery, muscle building, fat loss, cognition, longevity, are maximized when we ameliorate the risk of high BP, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stroke, etc. If you recall my article “tremendous telomeres”? Protecting the length and strength of our telomeres is critical for healthy, long strong lives. The length of our tellers directly influences our abilities to stay healthy on this earth. Out of the ashes or above ground. TMG strengthens our telomeres! Personally, I’m really quite fascinated by the methylated form of glycine.
The number of other benefits that are performance, health, vitality, healing, and recovery related, are not just many, but they are greatly enhanced by the addition and application of TMG.
First off for all of us, wanting to get lean, or shredded, look a certain way for competition or just have that awesome goal of building a more performance physique and ability. TMG builds

It is a counter to histamine, and so people with all allergies often have histamine reactions. Histamine reactions also have a lot to do with gut and G.I. symptoms, so this will ameliorate this all with great effect.
TMG has when taken properly as specifically to fit your needs. Yes there are studies that show a direct effect on some risk factors of taking too much. Friends supplements are awesome. Some are useless. Some are very powerful, some are not. They are additions not solutions to health or performance or recovery problems. Solutions should be sought long-term, not temporary. They stem from what we choose to eat and how we choose to exercise.
These two factors, food and fitness, lay the groundwork and are the foundations, to longevity the highest performance are most able recovery. .
So, TMG trimethylglycine methylated glycine is a rockstar in the annals of our Supplement availability. Health first performance recovery and amplification to all factors that make us look like the best version of ourselves, and produce the highest rate of athletic benefit and reward.
